The Home Depot Sales Support Specialist assists in the execution of sales and marketing strategies and programs to achieve maximum sales volume and margin potential from
account(s).
Responsibilities:
Performs sku maintenance and sets up new skus in Home Depot system to ensure pricing, buy packs and unit of measure are accurate for purchase.
Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of expansion.
Monitors, audits, and evaluates Home Depot.com for sku data / pricing / marketing copy accuracy.
Conducts online research to provide competitive data for daily and weekly promotional activity.
Provides support to the NAM to achieve annual and long-range goals and objectives.
Assists in the implementation of strategic sales plans to achieve corporate goals; including sales, margins, and profits.
Creates and delivers sales data to develop strategic sales and marketing presentations.
Assist with Product Line Reviews including but not limited to bay design, building of bays with merchandise for presentation purposes.
Performs competitive shops, competition analysis for presentation development. May require travel to specific markets to perform competitive shops.
Analyzes sales statistics to identify trends and opportunities to assist home center customer(s) in promoting sales.
Participates with headquarters team to develop and implement home center programs.
Monitors and evaluates the sales programs and products of the competition to ensure Home Depot maintains a competitive edge in the market place.
Directs and interfaces with store service organizations for program compliance and coordinates resets. Monitors service to maximize success of on-going programs.
Develops implements and maintains plan-o-grams, displays, packaging and program changes. Provides back up support to the primary AMT & Planogram Analyst when needed.
Cultivates close working relationships with Home Depot key personnel and internal departments to ensure key objectives are being met.
Qualifications:
Education and Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and / or experience preferred.
Expertise and/or working knowledge of home center business practices
preferred.
Knowledge of ceramic tile and/or hard surface flooring industry
preferred.
Experience:
Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Familiarity with JDA Space Planning software.
Competencies:
Leadership, organizational and sales skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Strong customer service orientation and customer focus, problem solving and the ability to multi-task.
Other Pertinent Job Information:
Some travel required.
Able to lift over 50 lbs and set bay plan-o-grams.
Experience using small construction and tile setting tools with knowledge of tile installation.
